Lucy Boston Blocks and Zoom from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

I made a commitment to myself to work on my Lucy Boston blocks.  I started making Lucy blocks in 2015 and I have about 20 finished.


This is the block I was working on last night while watching TV with Mr. Joe.  I made the decision to applique the blocks onto a 12-1/2" fabric square. I will put them together on point, possibly with a sashing.  The blocks are just too pretty to sit in a bin the rest of their life and the rest of mine.  I'm teaching this for a guild workshop later on ...

Retreat Preparations from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

Hello Everyone,

I'm working on tutorials to present to my quilters at the Sew'n Wild Oaks retreat next week.  One of the mini classes what I'm going to teach is an introduction to English Paper-Piecing to make Lucy Boston blocks.  This block uses my Gentry's Mill fabric line.


I put little kits together for those interested in learning this technique.


I work with a template which I put together to keep myself organized.  In my age group it doesn't take much to get me off track.

Lucy Boston Class Was In Session from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

Hello Everyone,
 
I spent a fun day in the classroom with the Independence Hall quilters in Arnold.  The girls were busy making Lucy Boston, or Patchwork of the Crosses blocks. 
 

Some of the girls brought their own fabrics, and some bought kits that I'd put together.


They fussy cut and basted throughout our time together.


They had gorgeous results to show by the end of the day.


 

Each of my kits include a block layout sheet to help keep you organized.  I'm a big fan of the sheets.


The classroom is spacious and bright.
